BigSkyFreedom is one Vancouver community of free association inspired by and loosely following the tradition of AnarchoBuddhism. It is a community whose spiritual practice commits them to a historical, political context within the Greater Vancouver area. BigSkyFreedom is free, open, independent, democratic, non-institutional/non-sectarian, non-hierarchical and non-coercive.
Our main values we try to embody in and through this community are that of: Freedom – 'Moksha', Truth – 'Satya', Peace – 'Shanti'/'Ahimsa' and Joy – 'Sukha'.
BigSkyFreedom expresses its values and its community through a free monthly public meditation sit that is open to all.
Our meditation sit or "Freedom Sit" takes place for one hour in Stanley Park. It is a meditation on "Mindfulness" and "Loving-Kindness" that is meant as a spiritual and pacifist act to help create world-peace for the benefit of all.
Come and join us in the sit and express and share in the peace and joy we so want to see fill the world.
